Steve describes himself as a beach bum. Hailing from San Diego, California, he spent years as an actual bum on the beach. Since then he has lived and worked all over the States in a semi nomadic way. For years with his brother they had a dream of going sailing, so when his brother sadly passed away he decided to make that dream a reality. He rode his motorbike down Baja California to meet us in Puerto Escondido and sailed with us for a month before riding back to San Diego to sell his car and most of his stuff to be able to come join Karaka for the Pacific trip.
